About
Experience the seismic power of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, the ultimate musical thrill ride that surges with staggering virtuosity, luxuriant melodies and thundering orchestral verve. The ASO welcomes the sensational 2022 Van Cliburn medalist Anna Geniushene, who plays “with an exquisite touch and an almost infinite tonal palette” (La Scena). During the second half, Music Director Nathalie Stutzmann shifts into the kaleidoscopic world of Maurice Ravel – the ultimate orchestral colorist. Leaning into the limitless nuance of the ASO’s artistry, she coaxes the most tender playing out of the musicians for Ravel's courtly dance Le tombeau de Couperin. Turning to a different kind of dance, the Orchestra goes out with a bombastic bang with Ravel’s La valse, a haunting, volcanic dream of a Viennese waltz.
